Labor's Budget Neglects Vaucluse
Published 22 September 2023
The Minns Labor Government has made it clear in their Budget that the electorate of Vaucluse doesn’t matter to them.
“Since coming to Government, NSW Labor has gone out of their way to attack our local community. Whether it was telling us to “get out of the way” when it came to development, involving themselves in local council decisions over residents parking or now increasing taxes, Chris Minns and his team have shown they would rather pit communities against one another then deliver for all the people of NSW,” said Member for Vaucluse, Kellie Sloane.
“Labor’s budget leaves behind hard working families in our community and delivers the bare minimum for Vaucluse. It has no major funding for our local roads, which everyone knows are congested and need fixing, and it makes no significant investment in upgrades to our local public schools. It also fails to invest in the much-needed upgrades to Watsons Bay ferry wharf.”
Member for Vaucluse, Kellie Sloane said she will continue to hold Labor to account and fight for the projects and infrastructure her community needs.
Under the previous Liberal Government over $209 million was invested into projects in the Vaucluse electorate, including:
- $71 million to redirect wastewater from the Diamond Bay and Vaucluse outfalls to the Bondi Treatment Plant
- $26 million for accessibility upgrades at Edgecliff Station
- $24.5 million for Darling Point Ferry Wharf upgrades
- $13.1 million for Double Bay Ferry Wharf upgrades
- $18.8 million for Bellevue Hill Public School for 27 new classrooms, library lift and canteen
- $3.2 Million for the Rose Bay Secondary College for play field upgrade
- $1.9 million for Bondi Public School for five new classrooms, solar PV system, play space and garden upgrades
