Rose Bay Marina Proposal
Published 27 February 2026
The Development Application (DA 490/2025), lodged on 18 December 2025, proposes an extension to the Rose Bay Marina, including a new marina arm (Arm C), a connecting walkway between Arms B and C, and the removal of 55 commercial swing moorings. Arm C would provide 32 berths for vessels up to 20 metres in length. The removal of the swing moorings would result in a net reduction of 23 boat storage spaces.
The application is classified as Designated and Integrated Development and has been referred to relevant State agencies, including the NSW Department of Primary Industries (Fisheries and Lands & Water) and the NSW Department of Environment & Heritage. The DA was on public exhibition from 21 January to 20 February 2026. It is currently in the early stages of assessment, with no formal planning assessment undertaken to date. The application is expected to be determined by the Woollahra Local Planning Panel, likely in April 2026.
I have reviewed all available information provided by Woollahra Council in relation to this proposal. As the marina is not Council-owned, the final decision rests with the Woollahra Local Planning Panel.
I encourage residents to continue sharing their views with me and Woollahra Council via records@woollahra.nsw.gov.au.
I understand how important this issue is to many residents. Rose Bay is a unique and valued part of our community, and I remain committed to representing local views throughout this process.
